Town Hall Meeting and Licensure Seminar

The Texas Medical Board just issued a press release announcing a Town Hall Meeting for Ft. Worth including a licensing seminar for entities that recruit or credential physicians. The licensing seminar does not appear to be for physicians seeking licensure, so if a physician requires assistance with issues involving licensure, the physician should seek the help of an experienced administrative lawyer. Be sure to go to the State Bar's website to check on the qualifications of a lawyer you are considering hiring because it lists important data such as years of practice and Board certification. Under the "Find An Attorney" section midway down the home page, enter the attorney's name and then click search.

A blog over at Information for Nurses also gives some helpful advice when seeking an attorney to represent you. I agree with the advice on that blog: Do Not Represent Yourself. I have seen doctors agree to restrictions that were not appropriate for the charges against them.
